The Transformation team from the Corporate Headquarters, Abuja was in NAPIMS recently to launch the Transformation Posters. In a brief remark at the event, the Group General Manager, NAPIMS, Mr. Morrison A. Fiddi said that the transformation agenda is a key issue currently on the front burner in NNPC. The GGM posited that change is the only permanent thing; hence the transformation programme is designed to move NNPC from where it is to where it should be in the near future.
In his presentation to the Top Management staff of NAPIMS, the General Manager, Transformation, Mr. Gabriel Adetunji highlighted the key thrusts of NNPC Transformation.
Mr. Adetunji emphasized that the need for NNPC to transform stems from both internal and external factors.
However, in leading the change process, the Top Management staff of NNPC are expected
1. |
To build understanding and conviction amongst staff |
2. |
Role Model the new NNPC |
3. |
Support the workforce with tools and mechanisms |
4. |
Develop the skills of the workforce |
The event was climaxed by the launching of the Transformation Posters by the GGM, NAPIMS, Mr. M. A. Fiddi.
The Posters emphasize the following three values:

NNPC's Transformation: Change starts with you |
3. |
Change Creates Opportunities: Embrace Change |
The Posters have been displayed at strategic positions within the various NAPIMS' locations.

Voices of the people on Transformation
1. I know about transformation office and their programmes and I know why we are transforming. NNPC has been a heavy cost centre over the time and now we want to progress into a profit centre in order to compete in the global environment. We were shown the figures in our Chief Officers' Programme and it was really frightening and a big concern. We all need a change in our attitude in order to have a new NNPC - Anyika
2. NNPC Transformation is a welcome initiative. I have noticed the impact on how my SBU's business has been streamlined and yielding visible results. Various departments have been able to align with the Corporate objectives especially in budget control and cost savings.
I believe real-time feedback between staff and the Transformation Office is paramount. The future of the Corporation is in our hands hence the question is, where are we on the transformation programme? This is because I want to be part of the change - B. Balami IDSL
3. I have heard about Transformation and I think the essence is to propel NNPC to try and meet with global standards - we cannot afford to do business as usual. The major impact I have observed is that some processes in my SBU have really improved, particularly in my department. A lot still needs to be done in order to reach to all SBUs and CSUs. -Michael Akpu PPMC
4. I have been trying to do my work in a different way as a result of my interaction with the Transformation Office. -Patience F&A
5. Transformation? Yes, I have heard of it and I know it exists. We are very expectant of the PIB, which of course will affect the structure of PPMC, but I think the members of the National Assembly are not sincere on the issue - it looks impossible. PPMC Staff.
6. Yes, the transformation is useful especially now that we are in an electronic age. There is need for NNPC to be a great company so that we can be offered employment after the National Youth Service Corps Scheme. The only thing that is constant in life is change. Transformation has made us to resume at work earlier than we did. I think transformation is taking a step in the right direction even the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is preaching transformation. - Chinedu NNPC Intern.
7. Personally, I am a part of the Transformation programme. I worked with the team and even attended training programmes. I can say that I am beneficiary though there has been a communication breakdown in the recent past due largely to the nature of my work. I know it still exists but I have not heard anything from the Transformation Office for a while. We used to hear a lot about the Transformation, especially when the programme just started - Anonymous
8. Everyone's mind in F&A has shifted to SAP. The question is - what is the correlation between SAP and Transformation? F&A staff
