‘COMRADE’ FIDDI ENGAGES THE UNION

Industrial harmony is one key factor that has remained consistent with NAPIMS over the years. Speaking at his inaugural meeting with the management of NAPIMS and the Branch Executive members of the two house unions ‘Comrade’ Morrison Fiddi the Group General Manager, NAPIMS remarked that NAPIMS has maintained an envious record of peaceful industrial harmony over the years.

The GGM praised the House Unions on their proactive stance on issues which has helped to avoid some ugly incidents. He pledged his continuous support for staff welfare especially in the areas of good office accommodation, staff training and capacity building. Responding on behalf of the labour leaders, the Chairman of PENGANSSAN, Comrade Samson Nsek Uko congratulated the GGM, NAPIMS, Mr. Fiddi on his recent promotion and pledged the support of all staff to achieve the goals of NAPIMS.

In the same vein, the NUPENGASSAN NAPIMS Branch Executive embarked on the ‘Farm Tour’ of the various NAPIMS locations. The team visited the Crude Oil Marketing Division Western Zone Operations with its office situated in Warri. The Western Zone has nine terminals namely Escravos terminal, Escravos LPG, Forcados terminal, Abo, Oloibiri (Funniwa) Ukpokiti, Sea Eagle, Oyo and Obe terminals which are all operational. The Eastern Zone Operations with its office at Port Harcourt oversees about twelve terminals namely Bonny, QuaIboe, Brass, Odudu, Yoho, Antan, Okwori, Okono, Ima, Okoro, Bonny River and NLNG Terminals.

The team observed an acute shortage of Terminal Operators in these Zones which is not only detrimental to the operations but also to the welfare of the staff. Facilities Upgrade at some of the Terminals and Provision of Logistic facilities like Vehicles are other issues militating against optimal operations. The Management of both the Western and Eastern operations were full of praises for the Labour Leaders for deeming it fit to visit the locations to see things for themselves. The Manager, Eastern Zone Mr. A. U. Ekanem pointed out that without the Union, there will be no industrial peace which is key to organisational growth.
