It is my pleasure and privilege to welcome you to the 4th and last Quarter 2011 Edition of your favourite magazine- NAPIMS NEWS. Tick, tick, tick, tick – just like that, the year 2011, though quite eventful, has rolled by. I want to sincerely appreciate all our contributors and readers for your unflinching support throughout the year. Thank you so much.
At the end of the year, the Group General Manager, NAPIMS, Mr. Morrison Fiddi, FNAPE gave an address on the activities of 2011 and the successes achieved in some major projects.
Heartwarming, is the news that a state of the art renovation work in the 36 Gerrard Road of NAPIMS will soon be concluded. Nipex held its Last Quarter Village Meeting during which the outgoing General Manager, NipeX, Dr. I. N. Ohiaeri was honoured. Dr. Ohiaeri, upon attainment of the mandatory retirement age of 60 has disengaged from the services of the Corporation.
The NNPC is vigorously pursuing its transformation agenda which is steadily gaining grounds across the Corporation. We, in this edition, highlighted the score card of the transformation office in 2011.
NAPIMS’ commitment to Sustainable Community Development is unwavering as it has become the panacea for ensuring an environment conducive for our JV/PSC operations in the Niger Delta, in particular and Nigeria as a whole. In this edition, the Group General Manager, NAPIMS, Mr. Morrison A. Fiddi urges the JV/PSC companies to adopt a 5-year strategic plan model for a holistic development of our host communities.
We have also included, for your delight, a continuation of the article on ‘Enjoying Teenage Parenting’ and on ‘Leadership Excellence’. Also featuring is an article on Climate Change. Our medical experts are leaving no stone unturned to ensure we maintain a good health. In this edition, they have dealt comprehensively with the issue of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STIs).
