GGM’s END OF YEAR GOODWILL MESSAGE TO STAFF

Firstly, I thank the Almighty God for his guidance and for enabling us to witness another end of year. No doubt you have all worked assiduously towards achieving our organizational goals. Your support and commitment have in no small measure contributed to our modest achievements in 2010. Thank you all.

Upon assuming office in the 2nd quarter of the year, I emphasized on the need to focus on our core mandates and fast track our activities which, to a great extent, impact on the economy of the nation. The present administration is clear on its deliverables and we are expected to give maximum support to achieve the set goals. We must always benchmark our activities and decisions on our Mission Statement and ensure that every step yields maximum returns on the nation’s investments which have been placed in our custody. The amnesty arrangement has brought relative peace in the Niger Delta Region and this in turn has impacted positively on our operations, productions have significantly increased.

It is delightful to note that the prices of crude have improved remarkably in the international market. It is hoped that the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) would soon be signed into law and that will mark a major paradigm shift in the operations of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria. As you are aware, several inputs and amendments to the bill are on-going, nevertheless, be rest assured that the interest of the staff remains paramount in every decision being made. It is my firm belief that as the new year unfolds, the Almighty God will exceed your expectations and keep you and your family in good health.

The end of the year comes with it celebrations and several trips. In all of these, I enjoin you to stay alert and do everything in moderation. Please do not drink and drive, observe speed limits and if possible stop every one hour to stretch yourself when on a long journey. Before embarking on your journey, ensure that your vehicle is in good condition and check the tyres. Always wear your seat belt while driving because this saves lives during an accident.

May I also implore you to ensure proper housekeeping to avoid fire outbreaks during this season as this will help us enjoy the celebrations. Best Wishes to you and your loved ones during this festive season and a very HAPPY NEW YEAR.
